At least three officers were injured, one seriously, in the attack in the Forest district of Brussels. At least one suspect fled the scene. The area has been sealed off by heavily armed security personnel.

France confirmed both French and Belgian police were involved in the raid, whichreportedly is not linked to Salah Abdeslam, a main suspect in the Paris attack who is believed to have escaped to Syria.

The Islamic State’s attack in Paris on Nov. 13 killed at least 130 people. Several of the attackers had lived in Belgium, and numerous counter-terrorism operations have taken place there since the attack.
