 At least 10 dead, 60 injured in Philippines market blast. DAVAO CITY , Philippines, At least 10 people are dead and 60 injured after a blast ripped through a market area of Davao City, Philippines, on Friday night.

The blast happened at Roxas Night Market, in front of Ateneo de Davao University. Presidential spokesman Ernesto Abella did not say what caused the blast, telling CNN there is “nothing definite yet” about the explosion.

Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte told the public to go home and ordered the bars to close.

“Let us pray for the victims of this unfortunate incident, especially for those who died. Let us pray for those who are being treated in different hospitals and pray for their quick recovery. There are at least 10 people who perished because of the incident and a number were reported wounded,” he said in a Facebook post. “Rest assured the authorities are on top of this incident. Right now, we cannot yet give a definite answer to as to who is behind this as we are also trying to determine what really exploded. It’s a sad day for Davao and for the Philippines.”
