The Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) announced on Monday the arrival of the delegation of the Supreme Committee for the referendum in the Kurdistan region to the capital Baghdad, while disclosing the files to be discussed by the delegation with the central government.
The head of the Kurdistan Democratic Party in the House of Representatives, Arafat Karam, said that “the Kurdish delegation negotiating for the referendum arrived, yesterday afternoon, to the capital Baghdad to negotiate with the central government to persuade them to hold the referendum on schedule noting that “the delegation will discuss with Prime Minister Haidar Abadi, and leaders of political blocs, and religious reference, several files carried with him.
Karam added that “the files carried by the Kurdish delegation to Baghdad, related to the referendum, and constitutional violations, and the issue of resolution of Article 140, which concerns the disputed areas constitutionally,” adding that “the delegation will stay 3 days in Baghdad in order to convince everyone why the direction of Kurdistan towards Referendum “.
Karam revealed that “the committees formed by the Kurdistan government, on negotiations with all countries, got 140 signatures from various Arab and European countries, supporting the right of the fate of Kurdistan to secede from Baghdad.”
