Apple watches barred from British Cabinet meetings

LONDON, apple e watches are no longer allowed in Cabinet meetings in the British government because they are vulnerable to hacking, officials said Monday.

Specifically, Prime Minister Theresa May’s administration is concerned about Russian hackers gaining access somehow to the top secret gatherings, The Telegraph reported.

Recent hackings involving suspected Russian operators over the last couple of years have made intelligence authorities increasingly sensitive. Under David Cameron, the smartwatches were permitted.

“The Russians are trying to hack everything,” one official told the Telegraph.

Mobile phones have also been barred from British Cabinet meetings.

Monday’s news came just days after the U.S. government accused Moscow of trying to intervene in the forthcoming election.
