JALALABAD, Afghanistan, Two U.S. military members were wounded Saturday in Afghanistan when their vehicle was hit by a bomb, according to reports.
The soldiers were not identified and the Pentagon has not updated their conditions
The incident happened while the men were on patrol near Jalalabad airfield, in Nangarhar Province.
Members of the NATO-led mission Resolute Support have been assisting the Afghan military in fighting Islamic State rebels in the region. That effort saw its first combat fatality earlier this week, when Green Beret Staff Sgt. Adam S. Thomas, 31, was killed when an improvised explosive device detonated in Nangarhar’s Achin district.
